The U10A grade refers to high-quality steel. The letter "U" at the beginning of the marking stands for "carbon steel," and the letter "A" at the end signifies high-quality steel. U10A is known as clean steel, free from alloy banding, suitable for differential hardening (Hamon). Its low manganese content allows for distinct features (choji).
- Good hardenability during heat treatment
- High surface hardness
- Good stability after heat treatment
